Walk A Mile In Her Shoes

Posted on: September 21 / 2019

Walk a Mile in Her Shoes is a signature fundraising event for YWCA Lethbridge & District. The goal of the event is to raise money to help people who have experienced domestic or sexual violence. This event asks registered participants to take a stand by stepping into a pair of heels and walking a mile around Galt Gardens.

2019 – GirlGang was proud to register a team of six walkers from ages 6 to 33, and raised over $300 in support of this important event. Those participating in this years event were sporting bib 1714, a chilling representation of the number of people that had to be turned away last year due to a lack of funds. This year the YWCA Lethbridge  was able to collectively raise over $8,000 with the help of incredible individuals, and businesses in our community. With love, and agency like this we can help make an impact with the ongoing fight to combat domestic and sexual violence.

2018 – GirlGang was proud to register a team of eight walkers and raised over $400 in support of this important event. We walked, and showed our solidarity to the women, children, and men dealing with abusive relationships, or sexual violence – everyone that participated wore a bib with the number 2094 on it, a chilling number that represented the people that had to be turned away last year due to a lack of funds. The YWCA Lethbridge was able to raise over $18,000 with the help of amazing individuals, and businesses in our community.
