International Women’s Day

March 8 is International Women’s Day – a day to recognize women’s achievements and acknowledge the challenges they continue to face in the quest for gender equality. 

2021 – In honour of Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day, GirlGang Kindness  partnered with Paige Crozon to offer Be Kind // Be Strong: a by-donation virtual workout for all ages and skill levels. Proceeds from this virtual event were donated to Streets Alive : Genesis Women’s Life Recovery – a multi-tiered program assisting vulnerable women who want to recover their lives. ⁣ GirlGang Kindness also created an online space for the community to highlight inspiring women.

2020 – We partnered with Bloomdiggity and attended the Lethbridge March on Solidarity Collective’s IWD Women’s Rally : “Hand in Hand… We Go Forward Together.” This year’s focus was the challenges faced by disabled women and homeless women, and the launch of the Sisterhood Handbag Project: filling spare handbags with useful items for our sisters and nonbinary friends who are experiencing homelessness. We were thrilled to hand out our flowers to the beautiful women in attendance.

2019 – We decided this would be the perfect opportunity for more Random Acts of Kindness, and handed out roses from Funky Petals and love notes to a range of women in our community: women we passed on the street, female business owners, and friends and supporters of GirlGang.
